2 Columba Bianca Kore  Grillo 2016 DOC 13% vol. Sicily Italy Grillo Markinch Wine Gallery £10.75 Light and floral. Tropical fruit notes. More complex than the Zibibo. Dry with good acidity and more length. Lemony.


3 Domaine  Aubai Mema Albion 2016 IGP 14% vol. Languedoc France 50% Chard. 50% Viognier Markinch Wine Gallery £10.50 Freshly mown hay, grass. Lemon and melon. Balanced. Mineral on the tongue.  1BV
4 Domaine Des Gandines Virˇ-Clessˇ 2015 Appellation Virˇ-Clessˇ Protˇgˇe 13.5%vol. M‰con,Burgundy France Chardonnay Henri Stockbridge £17.95 Tangerine, lime and marmalade on the nose Well balanced and good body. Wintery and buttery in the mouth. Custard and fruit. 11 plus 6BW 2nd. Best White
5 Esencia Rural Airˇn Pampaneo 2014 Vino de la Tierra de Castilla 12% vol.


Castilla Š La Mancha  Spain Airˇn Vino Morningside £12.50 In colour, well named an orange wine. Marmalade and raisins on the nose.  Quite a zing in the mouth. Refreshing with some sweetness. One of the natural wines. 4 plus 3BV and  1BW
6 Jose Ant.Garcia Un Culin 2016 13.5% vol. Bierzo Spain Mencia Henri Stockbridge £14.50 Pudding notes Š steamed syrup pudding. Dry, light tanins but thin body. Cloves in the tasting. 


7 Urlar Pinot Noir 2014 14.5% vol


Gladstone, Wairapa New Zealand Pinot Noir HendersonWines Morningside £14.50 Cherry and strawberry nose but also some petrol. Spicy yet smooth and easy to drink. Very well balanced

8 De Gras Reserva Carmen¸re 2013 13.5% vol. Valle De Colchagua Chile Carmen¸re Dunnottar Wines Stonehaven £9.50 Slightly brown round the edges perhaps from the age. Plummy with some vanilla. Full bodied and smooth and lightly peppery.  10 plus  4BV 3rd. Best Value
9 Domaine Du Mortier Boisard Fils Des Pieds Et Des Mains 2014 14% vol. St Nicolas de Bourgueil Loire France Cabernet Franc Henri Stockbridge £25.95 Another natural wine.  On the nose there was the smell of the farmyard and a whiff of urea -  and some raspberry. Not too rewarding for most.  But soft with hints prune and very drinkable for others.   4
10 Fontodi Chianti Classico 2014 DOCG 13.5% vol. Chianti ŠPanzano  Italy Sangiovese Valvona and Corolla Elm Row £22.95 The 3rd best Chainti Classico?  Forest fruit flavours.    Dry and full bodied with light tanins. An elegant wine. But sangiovese not everyoneÕs cup of tea.  7
11 Serego Alighieri (Masi)  Casal Dei Ronchi Recioto della Valpolicella Classico 2011 DOCG  14% vol.  Veneto Italy Corvina Rondinella Molinara Vineyard 20 -25 euro (50cl) Deep dark damson in colour. Not much on the nose Š but dried porcini from the glass. Bramble tasting and that berry like sweetness.  9
