Bleu Blanc Thau 2021 Vignerons de Florensac Côtes de Thau Picpoul, Terret 12.5% 7.50 Lemon and melon on the nose. Pronounced fruit acidity with some minerality. Sharp and dry. drier than most Picpouls, probably reflecting the unusual blend with Terret.
Châteauneuf- du-Pape Blanc 2020 Château Mont-Redon Châteauneuf- du-Pape Grenache Blanc 13.5% 23.00 Lemon meringue pie nose. Slightly honeyed, caramel, creamy palate with fuller body and good subtle finish Perfect with asparagus. A rare and classy white Châteauneuf-du-Pape BW
Viognier- Sauvignon Equilibre 2021 Domaine de l"Arjolle Côtes de Thongue Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc 12.5% 8.95 Tropical fruit nose. More Viognier on the nose but Sauvignon on the palate. Fine freshness Relatively unusual blend but works well.
Côtes de Roussillon Blanc Coume Marie 2020 La Préceptorie Côtes de Roussillon Grenache gris, Grenache blanc 14.5% 13.95 Divided a few. Pineapple nose. Sweet and honeyed richness with dry finish Rich but refreshing. Quite high alcohol level - 15% - which was too much for some
Château de Montfaucon 2018 Château de Montfaucon Côtes de Rhône southern Rhone, right bank Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Cinsault, Counoise 14% 11.50 Dark fruits on the nose. Some cherry and vanilla. Quite tannic but all the better for it. 2nd
Costières de Nimes, la Ciboise 2020 Chapoutier Costières de Nimes Grenache, Syrah 14.5% 9.50 Leather on the nose. More rounded and rich on palate compared with the previous Cotes de Rhône, despite being younger - perhaps more commercial. Full bodied. 1st BV
Domaine de Perdiguier Cuvée en Auger, 2013 Chateau de Perdiguier Coteaux d'Ensérune Cabernet, Merlot 13% 11.95 Leather, dark fruit, and liquorice. Still some tannins on the finish from a 2013. 3rd =
Les Premières, 2019 Domaine Alquier Faugères Grenache, Syrah 14% 14.95 Herbs, some thyme and mint. Light and rounded Some raspberry on the nose. From high and herbaceous ground. But not the best Faugères we had encountered
